Columbus, Ohio to Westerville, Ohio

16.4 miles

The skies are grey and the rain is on its way.  We have decided to ride to Westerville and hide out in an Airbnb for a day.

Busy streeets soon give way to the trail along the highway

The rain falls steadily and the raingear is working well.  The temperature is in the mid-50's.  The trail runs right along the highway - until it doesn't.  The section we are on is called the Alum Creek Trail.  Alum Creek runs north and south from the Ohio River and was an important part of the underground railroad route.

This is flat repair by committee.  Of course it's the rear tire and it's pouring rain.  Tom manages to fix the flat without taking off the wheel.  It is good to have such a great pit crew.

The rain falls steadily enough and the puddles reach to the axle on the bike wheel.

Ann cruising along in her Showers Pass cycling gear

The short mileage day turns out to be a good decision.  By the time we get to Westerville  there are not only thunderstorm warnings but a tornado watch.
Our indoor plans include netflix, laundry, grocery shopping, and hanging out.
