Day 4 - adaptability is key

Heading out of the campground nice and early, I realized my sunglasses were not in my front bike bag.  After some searching I realized they must be inside the restaurant where we had those delicious scallops and crab stuffed shrimp last night.  Pier 101 is definitely not a breakfast place, so we would have to wait for it to open in order to check on those super cool prescription sunglasses.
Positive reframe:  we get to hang around Newport and find some breakfast.  A couple of hours and many eggs and potatoes later, we were on our way.  A restaurant staff member found my glasses case under the booth where we had been sitting the previous night.
Depoe Bay whale watching was excellent and several grey whales were spouting and swimming very close to shore.  We saw tail flukes and whales surfacing --all from our bikes parked at the public harbor.  Our delayed start and all the whale spotting had us adjust our endpoint by about 15 miles.  We will just ride those tomorrow.  A good day.

  1. Love depoe and otter crest! And they do a lot of canning there, but that would weigh you down! Enjoy 😊
