Portland Day

The alarm woke us a two 3:30 am for our 6:30 am flight to Portland.  We live an hour from the Cleveland airport and are lucky that a good friend agreed to drive us there at the early hour required. An Uneventful flight and our first UBER experience took us to the home of a family friend in the Belmont neighborhood of PORTLAND.   Earlier, we had fed ex-ed the Surleys to their house so those were waiting for Tom to assemble.

We made a stop at Next Adventure, a local outfitters, and picked up the fuel canisters we need for the camp stove.  While there we also bought ourselves some super lightweight insulated cups for morning coffee.

After an afternoon of bicycle assembly and pannier packing, we hit the local brewery with the most appealing name: Basecamp Brewery.  Both food and brews were perfect.  Our bodies are still on Eastern time, so we are exhausted but super excited to actually get riding tomorrow!
